Bmi brings in online check-in

Bmi has launched an online check-in service for passengers flying on its Dublin to London Heathrow route. The airline claims the service is the first of its kind to be operated on a route between Ireland and the UK.

Initially, passengers using the facility at Dublin Airport will still be required to swap their online print-out for an airport boarding card at the Bmi check-in desk, while the airport continues testing new security procedures put in place to facilitate airlines offering online check-in.

Passengers returning to Dublin from London Heathrow with Bmi will be able to log on at any time from 24 hours before their flight to select their own seats, by-pass the check-in desks and go straight to the boarding gates upon arrival at the airport. The facility is available from www.flybmi.com/onlinecheckin.

Ryanair is planning to introduce online check-in facilities from March 16.
