Life assurance company Standard Life is to set up a new subsidiary in Dublin, which will create up to 30 jobs over the next three years.
The new company, Standard Life International, will sell investment bonds to private clients and small companies in the UK.
Ireland is understood to have beaten off competition from other locations for the €30m investment, which will be located at the company's existing headquarters in St Stephen's Green.
'We chose Dublin because of the strong regulatory environment combined with the availability of a highly skilled workforce,' said Murray Drummond, chief executive of Standard Life International.
Standard Life already employs 230 people in Ireland.
