AIB and British insurance group Aviva have completed the deal which will see Hibernian Life Holdings buy AIB's Ark Life insurance division. This follows approval from the European Commission earlier this month.
In November, the two companies announced the deal. Under its terms, AIB will take a 24.99% stake in Hibernian and receive a cash payment of up to €205.4m.
Hibernian is currently the third largest company in the sector here while Ark Life is the fourth
