The EU Commission has approved an IDA Ireland grant towards the establishment of a biopharmaceutical plant in County Cork.
Centocor, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, announced last year that it planned to create 330 new jobs from a new plant in Ringaskiddy.
The investment was reported to be worth _700m, and today the competition commissioner authorised a _48.25m grant towards the project from IDA Ireland. The commission said the aid would not give rise to undue distortion of competition within the EU.
