Workers at Cappoquin Chickens in Co Waterford have been served with protective notice.
Over 200 people are employed at the chicken processing facility, which is one of the largest employers in the West Waterford area.
The protective notice was served following the employees' rejection of a rationalisation package put forward by the Labour Court in an attempt to ensure the continued viability of the company.
SIPTU, which represents some of the workers, is expected to hold another ballot tomorrow in the hope workers will accept the package, which includes voluntary redundancies, changes in work practice and more flexibility.
Cappoquin Chickens is also supplied by 30 growers and 10 breeders in the area.
