Figures this afternoon show that the US economy expanded at a 4.1% annual pace in the third quarter.
This was the Commerce Department's final estimate of gross domestic product (GDP) for the July-September period. The figure came down a notch from last month's estimate of 4.3% growth.
The second revision to real gross domestic product in the quarter found a downward revision to consumer spending. Inflation measures were revised slightly higher, with the core personal consumption expenditure price index increasing at a revised 1.4% annual rate, up from the previous estimate of 1.2%.
