Trinity-IMI tie up with US Babson College

Trinity College Dublin and the Irish Management Institute have agreed a major collaboration with Babson College in the US and the recently established Trinity-IMI Graduate School of Management.

Babson College in Massachusetts is a recognised global leader in entrepreneurship education and is an internationally recognised business school. It is one of the top 20 global providers of executive education programmes and has been ranked among the top executive education schools worldwide

The Babson Entrepreneurship MBA is also ranked number one in the world.

The agreement will include student exchange programmes for students, academic programme collaboration will which deliver joint programmes, with a special emphasis on MBA degree courses and Executive education collaborations which will allow access to each school's executive education facilities

A key element of the partnership will be joint research programmes.

'Ireland has been recognised by the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor as being the second most entrepreneurial country in the EU with one in 12 working adults engaged in entrepreneurial activity. Our aim is to provide Ireland with a world class executive education, entrepreneurship and research institution and collaborating with expert international institutions like Babson will be a key factor in achieving that status,' commented Dr Tom McCarthy, IMI's Chief Executive.

'If Ireland is to produce internationally recognised business graduates, we need to provide international standards in our courses and by combining the resources of Babson, Trinity and the IMI we are taking the first steps on that road,' he added.
