The Companies Registration Office has announced several changes in pricing for activities including filing annual returns and changing company names and directors/secretaries' details.
The price changes will come into effect from December 1.
Some of the changes include charges for the change of a company name dropping from €60 to €50 if carried out through the CRO's website, www.cro.ie. The same transaction carried out using a paper form will rise in cost from €60 to €100.
Changing the registered office of a company will continue to be free if carried out electronically, while the paper version of the transaction will rise from €12 to €15.
The fee for filing annual returns changes to €20 if carried out electronically, while the fee for a paper based transaction is €40.
It is eight years since the charges for transactions with the CRO last increased, except for changes to business names announced in August.
Companies Registrar Paul Farrell says that the CRO is required by law to match its charges with the expenses involved in carrying out its work. He says this explains why paper based transactions are going up while electronic submissions are coming down.
