Convenience store chain Gala says it will invest €48m in 40 new stores next year, creating 500 full-time and part-time new jobs.
The announcement was made at the group's annual conference in Galway today. Gala also plans a marketing drive, led by television advertising.
Gala, which is owned by 17 wholesalers, expects sales this year to reach €420m, up 27% on last year.
