Figures released this afternoon show that An Post's service in the second quarter of this year improved slightly but still fell short of targets set by communications regulator ComReg.
ComReg's report showed that 78% of standard mail was delivered within one working day throughout the State. This compares with the regulator's target of 94%. 98% of mail was delivered within three working days. This was again short of the ComReg target of 99.5%.
The report also found that service levels for mail posted outside Dublin for delivery within the same county were better than for mail posted within Dublin.
