Britain's top retailer Tesco said in a trading statement this morning that UK same-store sales - excluding fuel - grew 6.8% in the first quarter in what the company described as a tough market.
Total group sales rose by 14.6%, the company said.
Including fuel, UK same store sales were up 8.8%, while international sales growth came in at 27.8%.
