The €37m Radisson SAS Hotel and Spa in Cork opened today. The new hotel is aiming to take 5% share of the Cork hotel market within the next two years.
The 129 bedroom hotel, which incorporates the Ditchley House in Little Island, is the ninth Radisson SAS hotel in Ireland.
The hotel is owned by two local Cork businessmen, Des O'Dowd, who is also Proprietor of Inchydoney Island Lodge & Spa, and property developer Rick Fitzgerald of the Oran Group.
Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts is part of Rezidor SAS Hospitality and it currently operates 167 hotels in 42 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In Ireland, the group operates or has under development a total of 14 hotels.
