European aircraft maker Airbus has lifted its forecast for deliveries this year to 'at least 360' and forecasts a 10% rise in 2006, Airbus chief executive Noel Forgeard said today.
Next year's deliveries should be 'way past 400', Forgeard said at the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget Airport near Paris. The company's previous deliveries forecast for 2005 was in a range of 350 to 360 planes.
Meanwhile, Forgeard said that delays in delivering the new super-jumbo A380 aircraft 'won't have any significant impact' on the company's 2006 results.
He recalled that delays of up to six months were foreseen, depending on the situation of the client and attributed the delays to electrical problems.
Airbus was continuing to target delivering the A380 to the first airline to use the plane, Singapore Airlines, in the latter part of 2006, Forgeard said.
