Aga Group buys Waterford Stanley

Aga Foodservice Group yesterday acquired Waterford Stanley, which makes cast iron cookers and stoves, in a deal which could be worth up to €13.8m.

The Waterford Stanley brands will now be added to Aga's portfolio of international brands, which include Aga, Rayburn, Rangemaster, La Cornue and Marvel. Aga employs more than 5,000 people and had sales of £435m last year.

Waterford Stanley employs 170 people in its Bilberry plant. Venture capital company Pricoa Capital and managing director Michael Laffan own the company. Mr Laffan will remain with the company as MD.
