Crown Equipment Corporation today announced that its Galway plant is to close in late 2006, with the loss of 150 jobs.
The company has decided to relocate its Galway operations to China and said the decision was economics based.
Crown Equipment Corporation is a multinational lift truck manufacturer with headquarters in Ohio in the US. The Galway manufacturing plant was established in 1960 with Crown ownership since 1968. At its peak, employment at the plant reached over 350.
The company said it was with great regret that it was closing the Galway plant.
