Trade surplus rises to €2.69 billion

The seasonally adjusted trade surplus for March rose to €2.69 billion from €2.64 billion in February, the latest provisional figures from the Central Statistics Office show today.

The seasonally adjusted value of March imports was €4.07 billion compared to €6.77 billion for exports, first estimates show. That compares with imports of €4.40 billion in February and exports of €7.04 billion.

Exports to the US rose by 6% from €2.49 billion to €2.64 billion. Imports from China rose by 26% from €397m to €499m.
