Easyjet CEO, Ray Webster is to retire early for personal reasons, after almost 10 years in the position.
On the appointment of his successor, Ray will resign from the Board and, up until 30 November 2006, will report to the Chairman.
In a statement the Chairman of easyJet, Sir Colin Chandler, said that Mr Webster's strong personal commitment to the company has been at considerable personal cost and that given that he planned to retire in 2006, he felt the succession process should be accelerated.
Other Easyjet board changes announced today were that Amir Eilon will not be offering himself for re-election at the company's AGM, at which time he will have served two three-year terms, and founder Stelios Haji-Ioannou, is to re-join the Board as a non-executive director with immediate effect.
In response to speculation, Stelios Haji-Ioannou repeated today that he does not have any current intentions to take the company private.
