Euro zone retail sales rose 0.3% in March from February, bringing the increase over one year to 1.4%, initial estimates from the EU's statistics arm showed today.
Eurostat said that in the 25-nation EU retail sales also rose 0.3% in March over one month and increased 2.1% on an annual basis.
Retail trade in food, drink and tobacco increased 1.3% in the euro zone in March over the year.
