Reports suggest that the Campbell Bewley Group is close to signing a deal with a restaurant and pub chain that would see the re-opening of Bewleys on Grafton Street as a new cafe bar.
The company is reported to have agreed heads of terms with the successful Cafe Bar Deli restaurant chain.
As well as the Cafe Bar Deli chain, the group owns the Odessa restaurant and Ri Ra nightclub in Dublin and the Bodega bar and Savoy nightclub in Cork. The chain is owned by Jay Bourke and Eoin Foyle.
Bewleys Oriental Cafés at Westmoreland Street and Grafton Street in Dublin closed last November, due to what its owners, the Campbell Bewley Group, called 'unsustainable cumulative and increasing losses'.
