Latest newspaper circulation figures show the Irish Independent's compact edition sold 72,226 copies every day and its broadsheet edition is selling 99,684.
As the new edition was launched last year there are no comprable figures to guage its progress.
But the Irish Times lost 0.8% in circulation year on year and is selling 114,528.
The Irish Examiner lost 1.1% year on year and is selling 58,778.
