The Radisson SAS Hotel in Cork is to create 100 new jobs and up to 45 part-time jobs when it opens its newest hotel in Little Island in the city in June.
The €37m development is owned by Cork businessmen Des O'Dowd - who also owns the Inchydoney Island Lodge & Spa - and Rick Fitzgerald.
The 131-bedroom hotel will increase the number of Radissons in Ireland to nine.
Mr O'Dowd says the economy in Cork is performing extremely well, helped by the presence of major IT and pharmaceutical companies, and adds that the city 'has a significant requirement for a sophisticated international hotel brand'.
