Dublin's ISEQ index was heading towards another record closing high today.
Stronger banking and construction stocks pushed the Dublin Stock Exchange to 6,766 this afternoon - a gain of 35 points. Index heavyweight Elan was also higher, up almost 3% this afternoon.
The Irish index has consistently outperformed its European peers since the beginning of the year.
The ISEQ closed up 24 points to 6755 this evening.
