Plastic technology company 3DM Worldwide says it has reached agreement with Kingspan to develop a number of building materials products using its PIM process.
3DM says PIM (Powder Impression Moulding) allows the production of a stronger plastic material that has the strength and other comparable properties of metal.
The company, which is listed on London's AIM market, says some of the products will be cheaper and more environmentally efficient versions of existing Kingspan products, while others will be new.
3DM says the environmental benefits of the PIM process will enable the companies to seek grant funding to recoup some development costs.
