The latest IMI Management Recruitment Index for Q4 2004 shows that the recruitment of managers increased by 2.5% during the last three months of 2004.
A total of 7051 management positions overall were advertised throughout the year, with almost 29% of these appearing in the months October to December.
During the final quarter of 2004, a total of 2035 advertisements for managerial positions at all levels were recorded. This was an increase of over 2.5% on the previous quarter's results and is the highest number of positions recorded since this series began in the final quarter of 2003.
The majority of all advertisements (over 73%) were for positions in the private sector.
The three sectors which advertised most management positions were health, retail and construction/engineering.
