20 people are to lose their jobs with the closure of Transnova Teo in Casla in Connemara, in Co Galway.
The company has been based there since 1987 and manufactures electrical transformers.
Transnova says it is ceasing operations because costs in this country are too high and because it can not compete with lower costs in countries such as China.
