Easyjet is expanding its Northern Ireland operations with a further two new direct European services from Belfast International Airport to Berlin and Rome.

Services from Belfast to Berlin Schoenefeld will start in July and to Rome Ciampino from July 2.

Last month Easyjet announced an additional aircraft to its Belfast base to enable three new routes to Geneva, Inverness and Palma, which are also to start up in July.

With the addition of these new routes, Easyjet will operate a total of 18 routes from Belfast to Alicante, Amsterdam, Berlin, Bristol, Edinburgh, Geneva, Glasgow, Inverness, Liverpool, London Gatwick, London Luton, London Stansted, Malaga, Newcastle, Nice, Palma, Paris and Rome.

The airport received assistance for the new routes from Invest NI subsidiary company Air Route Development, which was established to promote economic development in the North through improved air access.
