Figures from the Central Statistics Office show that the number of new cars licensed last month was down slightly on the same month last year.
There were 3,763 new cars licensed, compared with 3,781 in November 2003. For the first 11 months of the year, however, the number was 4.7% ahead of the same period last year at 147,664.
The number of second-hand cars licensed so far this year is nearly 57% ahead of the same period last year at 19,199. The November second-hand car figure of 2,425 was almost double the same month last year.
