A campaign to save Bewley's cafes has been launched in Dublin City Centre. Two cafes on Grafton Street and Westmoreland Street are due to close next Tuesday.
The campaign is being led by the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Michael Conaghan, and a number of other heritage campaigners.
This morning around 100 people gathered outside the Grafton Street cafe where they were entertained by actors and musicians.
The company that runs the cafes, Campbell Bewley Group, said it warmly welcomed the meeting as an expression of support, but it said the closures follows careful consideration of all the circumstances over the many years.
