First-half pre-tax profits at printing group Oakhill halved compared with the same period last year to €300,000.
Sales from its continuing operations rose by 3% to €17.2m, and the company said its underlying operating profits were up 23% at €1.4m. Adjusted earnings per share were 11% lower at 1.58 cent.
Sales in the managed services division, which produces cards, were flat , but the company said efficiency and productivity improvement helped profits to rise by 23%.
Profits in the specialty print division were up 12% on 8% higher sales. The company disposed of a number of businesses in the period. Oakhill says it remains cautious on the outlook for the second half because of competition and pressure on prices in its markets.
