Transport Minister Seamus Brennan says the cabinet sub-committee set up to consider the future of Aer Lingus has received a report from its advisors Goldman Sachs in recent days and will study it 'in the coming weeks'.
Speaking on RTE radio, Mr Brennan was also asked about a report in today's Irish Independent which says that entrepreneur Seán Quinn had been linked to a possible investment in Aer Lingus, if a stake comes on the market.
The paper quotes reliable industry sources as suggesting that Mr Quinn, whose interests include cement, insurance and glass, could even emerge as the financial backer of a management buyout at Aer Lingus.
Mr Brennan said he was not looking at personalities, but at what was right for the airline.
