The privately-owned oil and fuel company Stafford Holdings has bought oil distributor the Clarke Group.
The Clarke Group is a family business which is also involved in the solid fuels and agri-business sectors. The deal was done through Stafford's subsidiary Campus Oil, which it acquired last year for €27m.
Stafford Holdings said the acquisition would bring its total annual revenues to €230m. Chief executive Mark Stafford said the buy was an excellent fit and complemented its already substantial oil distribution and solid fuels businesses.
Stafford employs 300 people, and is also involved in stevedoring and product handling. It also has property and hotel interests.
