The British subsidiary of Larry Goodman's Irish Food Processors has acquired a Scottish sausage manufacturer based in Glasgow for an undisclosed sum.
Anglo Beef Processors has bought the plant formerly owned by Freshbake Foods, which went into administrative receivership on June 22.
The company, which employs 230 people, has been operating under joint administrative receiver, Iain Bennet from PricewaterhouseCoopers. IFP says the facility is currently a major supplier of frozen sausages to many of the UK's leading supermarkets and food service companies.
A spokesman for ABP said the company had been trying to gain a foothold in sausage manufacture, and the Glasgow plant provided it with a base for a quick.
