24% rise in managerial jobs in Q2

The latest IMI Management Recruitment Index shows that during the period, a total of 1,678 advertisements for managerial positions at all levels were recorded.

This represents an increase of 24% on the previous quarter's results and is the highest number of positions recorded since this series began in the final quarter of last year.

The IMI says the findings support recent optimistic forecasts on the Irish economy and trends in employment growth. 18.2% of these positions were at senior management level - an increase of almost 3% since the first quarter of this year.

Two-thirds of all advertisements were for positions in the private sector.

The strongest growth was in the education sector and the software industry at 2.6% and 2.5% respectively.
