Recruitment firm CPL has acquired one of Ireland's leading scientific recruitment agencies, Thornshaw Scientific.
CPL says the deal marks a further development in the group's strategy to provide specialist recruitment and HR services within specific sectors.
Thornshaw Scientific was established in 1999 and specialises in science/pharmaceutical recruitment.
'This an another major step forward in the development of our group and represents another major step in our growth strategy,' commented CPL's Chief Executive Anne Heraty.
'The acquisition of Thornshaw Scientific addresses the evolving demands from companies in the pharmaceutical sector, for specialist recruiters with expert industry knowledge,' she added.
Earlier this week CPL, in a trading statement, said that its pre-tax profits for the year ended June 2004 was expected to be substantially ahead of current market estimates.
CPL shares closed up four at 90 cent in Dublin this evening.
