Dubliners will have a new bus service from May 1 with the launch of the UrBus service. This will bring passengers from Castleknock and Blanchardstown to Swords via Dublin airport.
UrBus is part of coach tour operator Eirebus and initially will have four buses servicing the route. Route expansion is also under consideration by the company as the Dublin bus market continues to open up.
The company is investing €1m in the new buses, which will have lo-floor wheelchair access. The buses will be easily recognisable by their bright orange livery.
'For some time now we have seen increasing consumer demand for choice in the bus transport sector,' commented Paddy Kavanagh of UrBus.
'As one of the oldest coach tour operators in the country with almost 100 coaches transferring passengers the length and breadth of Ireland on a daily basis, we believe that Eirebus and UrBus together have the best possible pedigree in relation to quality bus transport in the capital city,' he added.
