Aer Arann to start two new Derry routes

Aer Arann is to start flying two new routes from City of Derry Airport to Manchester and Birmingham from June 17. The new services are projected to carry 18,000 passengers each during their first year of operation.

The airline also recently announced two more services to Manchester from Waterford and Kerry and a Birmingham to Galway service, which will start on May 3.

Both of the new Derry services will use a 48 seater ATR42 aircraft and will bring the airline's total number of UK routes to 16.

'Aer Arann has made significant progress in expanding our business in the UK market with the introduction of six new services since January 2004,' commented Jennifer Mooney, Commercial Manager at Aer Arann.

'We look forward to growing these new routes and introducing further new services in the near future,' she added.
