Ladbrokes puts €4.2m into new EPOS

Ladbrokes has announced plans to spend €4.2m on new electronic point of sale technology in its 130 betting shops around the country.

Launched in its Lower Abbey Street shop in Dublin today, it is intended that EPOS will be operational in all the company's shops by the end of July.

Electronic point of sale (EPOS) allows all bets to be settled electronically, giving punters a faster service. The system is also operational in the UK.

'EPOS is the future of the betting industry and reflects Ladbrokes commitment to modernisation and efficiency,' commented Mike O'Kane, Ladbrokes Operations Director.
