Limerick sale - Danesfield buys hotel

Jurys Doyle Hotel Group has announced the sale - as a going concern - of its Jurys Limerick Hotel to Danesfield Ltd for €9.75m.

Danesfield is owned by John Lally, who also owns the Harbour Hotel in Galway.

Jurys said the 95 bedroomed Limerick Hotel does not fit with the group's strategic plan of operating larger sized hotels. In a statement it said it believes it would be 'preferable to concentrate its activities locally on further developing the business of Jurys Inn Limerick'.

It is expected the transfer of ownership will take place on April 5.

Shares in the hotel group closed three points lower at €10.60 in Dublin this evening.
