A leading financial management company is to expand its operation in Dublin, creating up to 300 new jobs over the next four years.
Merrill Lynch is to open a second Dublin office in Leopardstown following talks with IDA Ireland. It has selected Dublin as a hub for some of its support services in Europe.
The new investment will bring Merrill Lynch's staff numbers to 700. The Tanaiste, Mary Harney, said she was delighted by the company's decision to expand its Dublin operation.
Last month it was announced that Phillips Electronics was closing its accountancy services office in Leopardstown with the loss of 150 jobs.
