Leeds in talks with potential saviours

Leeds United this morning confirmed that 'continuing, constructive discussions' were taking place over the future of the debt-ridden English Premiership football club.

In a statement to the Stock Exchange Leeds said a number of parties were discussing proposals to buy the company's business or inject funds into the Elland Road outfit.

But it said none of these were interested in making an offer for the company's shares.

Leeds creditors have given it until January 19 to find someone prepared to invest in the club or buy it.

Leeds are thought to be around £80m in debt and are currently second bottom of the Premiership.
