The seasonally adjusted volume of industrial production for manufacturing industries for August to October 2003 was up 5.5% on the preceding three month period.
Production for all industries in October 2003 was 12.1% higher than in October 2002. The 'modern' sector, comprising a number of high-technology and chemical sectors, showed an annual increase in production for October 2003 of 14%, whereas an increase of 5.7% was recorded in the 'traditional' sector.
Industrial turnover for manufacturing industries was up 3.2% in the three month period August to October 2003 when compared with the preceding three month period. Turnover in October 2003 was 5.2% higher than in October 2002.
