Fruit distributor Fyffes says it has achieved an improved performance since last September 2003, mainly in its Continental European businesses.
In a trading statement today the group said full year results in 2003 were now anticipated to be more than €4m ahead of expectations at that time.
It said it expected to report profits before exceptional items and goodwill amortisation for 2003, close to the equivalent result in 2002.
A number of transactions arose during the year which will be reported as exceptional items including the disposal of several properties, the termination of certain operations and other once-off costs.
The net effect of these items is expected to be an additional profit of approximately €5m.
