Double diamond boost for African Gold

Exploration company African Diamonds says it has discovered two diamonds in the past two days at its kimberlite drilling programme in the Orapa area of Botswana.

The stones were of 0.11 and 0.14 carats. The company has 14 holes left to drill on the site.

Chairman John Teeling said that although there was a long way to go, the company had found something which may give it a commercial discovery.

'We need only 10 carats equal to two grams of gem quality diamonds per 100 tons of rock to be commercial,' he said.
