Shareholders in exploration company Providence Resources have heard that data from its Blackrock prospect in the Celtic Sea indicate the presence of non-waxy oil.
A company statement to the AGM said it had identified five targets in the area which could contain up to 613 million barrels of oil.
Providence currently holds 50% of the prospect and will now present the findings to potential partners.
