Scottish exploration company Ramco, which owns the Seven Heads gas field off Cork, has reported a halving of pre-tax losses to £1.4m for the first half of the year.
Ramco says first production at Seven Heads is scheduled for early in the final quarter of this year at an initial rate of 60 million standard cubic feet of gas per day.
The amount of reserves in the field has been upgraded by 28% following a drilling programme.
