Ryanair July numbers top two million

Ryanair carried over two million passengers in July, the first time it has topped the two million mark in one month.

Passenger figures released today show that the airline carried just under 2.04 million passengers, an increase of 40% on the same month last year.

But the load factor, which measures the percentage of seats filled, fell to 85% compared with 93% a year earlier. Other figures show that Ryanair now sells 94% of its seats through its web site.

The company releases its first quarter results on Tuesday morning. The shares closed down 20 cent at €5.93 in Dublin.
