Hibernian Investment Managers has confirmed that a review of its Irish fund management business is underway.
It says this is part of a review by Morley Fund Management, the asset management arm of Hibernian's British parent company Aviva.
A statement said Hibernian and Morley had been working closely with union representatives in Amicus-MSF on the issue. Hibernian said it would not comment further until the final outcome of the review was agreed.
It added that its life and pensions and general insurance businesses, which employ 1,800 people, were not affected by the review.
Hibernian Investment Managers employs 59 people in Dublin. The Irish Independent reported this morning that staff were told yesterday that the Irish operation could close.
