Tanaiste Mary Harney has appointed a US competition expert as a member of the Competition Authority.
Edward Henneberry, an Irish citizen, is currently a partner in Howrey Simon Arnold & White antitrust practice group in Washington DC. He has also worked in the US Department of Justice's antitrust division.
He will take up his position on September 15 and will be the director of the authority's mergers division.
