Dublin remains the third most expensive capital city in the EU, according to a worldwide cost of living survey carried out by consultants Mercer.
The city comes 21st in the world list, up from 73rd last year. European cities generally rose in the rankings because of the euro's strength against the dollar.
The survey covers 144 cities and measures the cost of over 200 items in each location.
Transport and housing costs made London the most expensive city in the EU, followed by Copenhagen. Other high scoring cities include Milan and Paris.
Tokyo has replaced Hong Kong as the world's most expensive city, with Moscow second and Osaka in Japan third. Asuncion in Paraguay has replaced Johannesburg as the least expensive city.
