Exploration company Tullow Oil said today that production has started from the McAdam gas field, situated in the UK Southern North Sea. Production started on April 27.
Initial production rates are between 60 and 65 million standard cubic feet per day, which is above the anticipated level of 50.
The McAdam field is the third field to be brought on production as part of the five field development known as CMS III. Tullow Oil UK holds a 14.1% interest in CMS III.
Production from the first two fields, Murdoch K and Hawksley, has exceeded expectations since first gas was produced from CMS III in September 2002.
The fourth well in the programme, Boulton H1, is currently drilling and should be producing by the third quarter of this year. The Watt field will be the last of the five to be developed.
